The Obama Foundation Invites Changemakers to Apply for its Global Leaders Program

The Leaders Program is the signature leadership program of the Obama Foundation, supporting emerging leaders in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States

CHICAGO – Today, the Obama Foundation opened applications for its six-month, values-based leadership development program that connects leaders between 24 and 45 years old across regions in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States. 

Since 2018, the Obama Foundation Leaders program has engaged nearly 1,000 emerging leaders worldwide, inspiring, empowering, and connecting them to change the world. Participants, recognized as “Obama Leaders,” learn practical skills and tools to lead through complex challenges, paving the way for them to make systems-level changes in their communities.

The program will facilitate weekly sessions in regional cohorts, and throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to engage with President Obama, leadership coaches, subject matter experts, and each other to deepen their leadership practice. The core curriculum, adapted for each region, includes sessions covering values-based leadership, relationship cultivation, and systemic engagement. 

“At a time of great anxiety and accelerating change around the world, what gives me hope is the promise of the next generation of leaders,” said Valerie Jarrett, Obama Foundation CEO. “We’re excited to open applications to four new regional cohorts of Obama Leaders. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and connect them to change their world.”
